Youth Apprentices

Every summer, Spoons & Sprouts teen program graduates are hired to work on the farm. It is often their first job, and we train them in the hard skills of gardening and the soft skills of job responsibility and customer service through produce sales. A few continue to work through the school year and help coach the incoming Spoons and Sprouts students!

George Crawley | FoodShare Outreach & Referral Manager

George moved to Greenville in the fall of 2025. Growing up in both Bismarck, ND and Fayetteville, NC, George finds Greenville to be the perfect "Goldilocks" city for him and his family. In the Spring of 2025 he received his MDiv. from Moody Theological Seminary in Chicago and previously completed his undergraduate education at Duke University.

Prior to joining the Mill Village team, George worked in education; serving as a teacher and tutor to middle school students on Chicago's South Side and working in Elementary special education. He also has experience in local church ministry. George's commitment to serve people is rooted in his faith in Christ, and a desire to follow in the footsteps of the "Son of Man who came not to be served, but to serve and give His life as a ransom for many".

George enjoys spending time with his wife Kiamya and son Georgie reading, hiking, and playing sports. He's also a theology nerd who loves studying Scripture, apologetics, and church history.
